The purpose of this image was to make it look like the part of the girl inside the frame is invisible and that you can look right through her.

Techniques used

The clone stamp was used to remove unwanted dirt on the wall and a part of a tree. A piece of the background wall was copied to a new layer and placed on top of the frame. By means of the polygonal lasso tool the inside of the frame was selected and a layer mask was added to hide anything outside the selection. The brick layer was transformed using the free transform tool in order to make sure that the lines matched the lines on the background. A color overlay effect was added to make it darker and an inner shadow effect was applied to create a natural looking shadow.

All layers were converted into a smart object and an unsharp mask filter was applied to enhance the image quality. Finally a hue/saturation adjustment layer and a curve adjustment layer were added to make the colors a little stronger and more clear.
